Dino Dominelli – Tenor, Alto and Soprano Saxophonist
One of Canada’s premier Saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist, Dino Dominelli has become an integral and important part of the younger generation of Jazz artists to embark the Canadian music scene from the early 90’s.

Dominelli has immersed himself into various Jazz genres and is well noted as a Jazz traditionalist to a modernist on the Saxophone.

Dominelli also has a keen interest in traditional and ethnic music foundations such as Chinese/ Taiwanese music, South American music, European music. He has applied these musical concepts and genres into a newer style for his Jazz arrangements and it is evident in his original compositions on his debut Album entitled “Faith in you”.

Dominelli’s influences come from the lineage of saxophonist such as Charlie Parker, Warne Marsh, Lee Konitz, Ornette Coleman, Cannonball Aldderly, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Joe Henderson, Michael Brecker, Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Berg, David Sanborn, Grover Washington, Courtney Pine, Keith Jarrett, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea , Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn and countless others.

Dominelli’s tenure in Toronto included studies with Elvin Jones’ Saxophonist Pat La Barbera and Canadian Jazz Multi-instrumentalist and composer Don Thompson at the legendary school of Performing Arts Humber College.

Dino has performed throughout Canada and internationally including United States, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand and Taiwan.

Dominelli has shared center stage and recorded with North America’s top popular artists such as The Shirelle Sisters, Alfie Zappacosta, Bobby Curtola, Jack Semple, Don Thompson,P.J. Perry, Bernie Seneski, Jake Langley, Sandro Dominelli, Greg Pilo, Chris Andrew, Jim Head, Wayne Feshchuk, Andrew Glover, Simon Fisk, Earl Seymour, Bob Mover, George Blondheim, Norman Marshal Villeneuve just to name a few.

Recently, Dominelli has been featured and awarded at the Taichung Jazz Festival and Saxophone Competition. His title track “Faith In You” is featured on Radio stations around the world.
